Finish in Four & Through in Two Advising Team
The Finish in Four and Through in Two Program enables a specific number of campuses of the California State University (CSU) to establish pledge programs for entering first-time students who are both interested and able to complete baccalaureate degrees in four years.
Many campuses have also established programs for students who are pursuing an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) from any California Community College and plan to complete their baccalaureate (bachelor’s) degrees in two years at a CSU campus.
Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)
The program is limited to students who meet the criteria:
- Residents of California and
- Low income/Pell eligible or
- First generation college student or
- From communities that are underrepresented in college attendance
Only certain majors at each campus are eligible for this program. Not all students who indicate interest will be able to participate.
Students who commit to enter either the four-year or two-year pledge will be given a priority registration appointment for each state-supported enrollment period and will be provided with routine and thorough academic advisement.
In order to remain in the program, students must meet with their advisors as prescribed, develop an enrollment plan, and complete 30 semester units (or the quarter equivalent) within each academic year, including summer. Participating campuses may stipulate other requirements as well.

Student Advisors
Finish in Four & Through in Two Student Advisors (SSAs) assist students in the CA Promise on their pursuit to timely graduation. By serving as an academic peer resource, SSAs empower students through outreach, guidance, and engagement. SSAs enhance awareness and increase student utilization of the KEYS to Degree toolbox (eAdvising tools), assist students with registration questions, and provide workshops that foster student success.
