About Honors Program
General Education Honors Program
Are you an engaged and curious student interested in being part of a collaborative and fun academic environment? Join the General Education (GE) Honors Program at Sacramento State!
The GE Honors Program offers students an innovative and rewarding learning experience. Our approach to learning is not about making things harder or overloading students with material, but learning real-world skills that will help you both inside and outside of the classroom.
So what is it like to be in the program? Students take specific Honors courses to meet their required General Education requirements. Our courses are small (around 25 students) and focus on the discussion of real-world social issues. Additionally, all students receive priority registration and are eligible to apply for special scholarship, study abroad, and internship opportunities. We also have an exclusive Honors Lounge with a variety of weekly social event, activities, and workshops.
Why Join Honors?
“As an incoming student to Sacramento State, you may be wondering if the stress of being in the Honors Program is worth it? As a previously anxious freshman who began and completed the Honors Program, I am proud to express that it is most definitely worth it.”-Ihsan Imthiyaz (B.S. Exercise Science 2024)
