FAQs
The Honors Program is really the General Education Honors Program for freshmen and transfer students. We are a specialized honors curriculum for general education (G.E.) classes.
Check your email often! This should be the email you listed on your application. We will confirm with you that we have received your application. Once the committee has reviewed your application, we will notify you of whether or not you have been accepted into the program. We will reach out to you directly with any questions about your application.
Congratulations! Continue to check your email as that’s how we will contact you with important information and verify your acceptance.
Submit your intent to enroll with us by emailing us at honors@csus.edu stating that you accept your offer to the Honors Program. Don’t forget to submit your intent to enroll with CSUS, too! You can find directions on submitting your Sac State ITE here: A Guide to Submitting your Intent to Enroll.
Important: The intent to enroll (ITE) for Sac State and the Honors Program are two separate processes. Both need to be completed by the specified deadline in order to attend.
To join the Honors Program as a transfer student, you must commit to the minor in Global Engagement & Leadership.
Honors courses are pre-selected for all freshmen. This will be further discussed at Honors Orientation.
If you are interested in living in the Honors housing community in Riverview Hall, you must complete a separate housing application through the Housing Office: How to Apply and Costs. Riverview Hall is our state-of-the-art residence hall, and Honors students will enjoy special programming and an Honors Resident Advisor. If you have any questions about housing, please reach out to their office at housing@csus.edu or call them at (916) 278-6655. Please note that housing placement is on a first-come, first served basis and students are encouragemed to apply early.
No! There is no extra cost or annual fees for being in the program.
