How to Apply & Costs
Spring 2026 Application Dates
Spring Only term is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed, depending on current occupancy going into the Spring semester from our academic year students. Additionally, roommate requests will not be collected, as space will be limited.
- October 1, 2025 at 1 p.m.: Spring only housing application available to everyone (current off-campus students, incoming transfers, incoming first-years)
- November-January 2025: Housing staff will be able to confirm and assign Spring only residents as space in the Spring becomes available.
- December 1, 2025: Published cancellation deadline for Spring 2026 North Village application. This does not apply to current Academic Year 25-26 North Village students, as that cancellation deadline was in June.
- December or January 2026 (depending on the date of your assignment): Housing charges posted for Spring 2026 for new Spring residents.
AY 2026-2027 Returner Priority Application
Academic Year North Village on-campus housing applications will include the signing of a License Agreement that will be in effect from August through May. Depending on your application and your assigned housing, you may have to leave for Winter Break (but your belongings would still remain in your room).
Housing placement is on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed, as we have limited spaces for upper-division students. Students will be placed on a waitlist if we cannot accommodate your application. We encourage students to complete their application (submit application and pay/defer the $250 payment) or to look at Hornet Commons on-campus housing.
Please follow the below instructions for completing your on-campus housing application.

Meal Plans are required in North Village. Read more information about the Meal Plan options. - Submit your Application
Login to the HornetHousing Portal to complete your On-Campus Housing Application. Make sure to select the correct term for your application. Be prepared to share contact information, emergency contact information, health insurance information, and other important details. Please read all information carefully about your options, cancellation policies, etc. before submitting your application. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign the License Agreement before you can submit your application. - Complete your Application
Follow instructions sent via email to pay the $250 Application Installment payment to complete your application. If you need a Deferment for the $250 payment due to incoming Financial Aid, please see “North Village Forms” below. If you are an international student and paid by Flywire, please email housing@csus.edu your receipt of payment. - Check Your Application Status
Students will be notified when they have a confirmed housing space in North Village. You can refer back to your application for your Application Status at any time. It is important to check your Sac State email often. - Immunization Records
Prior to move-in, please upload the required immunization records to your Student Health and Counseling Services Patient Portal.
Returning Resident Priority Timeline:
All current North Village residents will have the ability to apply using the priority timeline below, allowing our current residents to complete their application before it opens for anyone else. If returning residents do not use the priority timeline below, they will have to apply with all other students (see “Transfer or Continuing Student Application”).
Completing your application during the priority timeframe does not guarantee housing for next academic year.
- February 3, 2026 at 1 p.m.: Housing Application available to all current residents of North Village
- February 9, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Housing Application closed for current residents of North Village. If residents missed this priority window, they should refer to the Transfer or Continuing Student Application timeline below.
- April 15, 2026 at 1 p.m. – May 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Roommate Search and Selection for all Confirmed North Village residents (priority applicants, transfers, continuing students)
- May 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Housing Application closed for upper-division housing (current residents, transfers, continuing students)
- May 15, 2026: Deadline for Priority Review of Disability Access Center (DAC) Housing Accommodation Requests. Students with an on-campus housing application should submit their accommodation request and all supporting documentation to Disability Access Center (DAC) by this date for priority review.
- May 18, 2026 at 10 a.m. - 11:59 p.m.: Full Suite Room Selection for all Confirmed North Village residents that participated in priority application period (current residents for 2025-2026)
- May 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. – May 21, 2026 at 1 p.m.: Fill Bed Room Selection for all Confirmed North Village residents that participated in priority application period (current residents for 2025-2026).
- May 31, 2026: UHS Staff will assign all remaining Confirmed North Village returning residents. Assignments will be sent out via email.
- June 15, 2026: Published cancellation deadline for Academic Year 26-27 North Village Upper-Division/Transfer applications.

- Incoming Transfers - Create your Sac Link ID & Submit your ITE
If you are an incoming student, create your Sac Link ID. You will need to create your account at least 3 business days before applying. Students should also submit their Intent to Enroll before applying for housing. - Review your Housing Options

Transfer and Continuing Student Application Timeline:
All newly admitted transfer students, as well as any continuing Sacramento State student that lived elsewhere for academic year 2025-2026 should follow the timeline below. Returning North Village students that missed the priority application window would also follow this timeline.
- February 17, 2026 at 1 p.m.: Housing Application available to all transfer and continuing students
- April 15, 2026 at 1 p.m. – May 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Roommate Search and Selection for all Confirmed North Village residents (priority applicants, transfers, continuing students)
- May 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Housing Application closed for upper-division housing (current residents, transfers, continuing students)

- May 21, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. – May 25, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Fill Bed Room Selection for all Confirmed North Village residents

- June 15, 2026: Published cancellation deadline for Academic Year 26-27 North Village Upper-Division/Transfer applications.
AY 2026-2027 First-Year Student Application
All newly admitted first-year students are required to live on-campus in North Village housing, unless they meet specific exemption criteria.
Academic Year North Village on-campus housing applications will include the signing of a License Agreement that will be in effect from August through May. Depending on your application and your assigned housing, you may have to leave for Winter Break (but your belongings would still remain in your room).
Please follow the below instructions for completing your on-campus housing application and/or verifying your exemption status.
- Create your Sac Link ID & Submit your ITE
If you are an incoming student, create your Sac Link ID. You will need to create your account at least 3 business days before applying. Students must submit their Intent to Enroll (ITE) with the University before applying for housing. - Review your Housing Options

Login to the HornetHousing Portal to complete your On-Campus Housing Application. Make sure to select the correct term (AY 2026-2027) for your application. Be prepared to share contact information, emergency contact information, and other important details. Please read all information carefully about your options, or exemption processes and cancellation policies, etc. before submitting your application. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign the License Agreement before you can submit your application.- Certain exemptions are pre-verified (location, age, and military/veteran status). If you meet the criteria for one of these exemptions, you will have the option to bypass the housing application and directly submit an exemption request. If you have a pre-verified exemption and would like to live on-campus, you are still welcome to submit a housing application.
- Complete an Exemption Request, if applicable
Once you submit your application, you will have access to our First-Year Exemption Request Form. Please complete this by the deadline. - Check Your Application or Exemption Status
Students will be notified when they have a confirmed housing space in North Village. You can refer back to your application for your Application Status at any time. It is important to check your Sac State email often. Students that live within the location radius might be on a waitlist until we verify space availability. - Register for and Attend New Student Orientation

First-Year Application Timeline:
All newly admitted first-year students should follow the timeline below.
- March 3, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.: Housing Application & Exemption Form available to all incoming first-year students
- May 1 - May 31, 2026: LLC and Theme Offers sent via email (check the HornetHousing Portal to accept/decline)
- May 15, 2026: Deadline for Priority Review of Disability Access Center (DAC) Housing Accommodation Requests. Students with an on-campus housing application should submit their accommodation request and all supporting documentation to Disability Access Center (DAC) by this date for priority review.
- June 1, 2026 at 1 p.m. – June 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Roommate Search and Selection for all Confirmed North Village first-year residents
- June 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.: Housing Application & Exemption Form closed for first-year housing
- Beyond this date, first-year students would submit a Cancellation Request Form.
- Room Selection: Times will be shared via email invites.
- July 9 – July 10, 2026: LLC and Theme Housing
- July 13, 2026: 9-month Addendum and Gender-Inclusive Housing
- July 15 – July 16, 2026: All other First-Year students
North Village License Agreement
The License Agreement is a legally binding contract between the student and the University Students living in the residence halls must sign a license agreement.
Cancellation License Agreement
- Cancellation requests can be completed online at HornetHousing.
- A cancellation fee may be assessed to your University Account. Please review the Cancellation Process at HornetHousing for details.
