Sacramento State was proud to host our inaugural Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Unity Summit on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the University Union Ballroom.

President Robert S. Nelsen spoke at the summit, titled “Celebrating Diversity: Equity and Inclusive Excellence.” The goal of the summit was to engage the campus and community at large in the process of advancing Sac State’s new designation as an HSI.

The event brought together leaders from K-12 schools, community colleges, nonprofit organizations, private sector employers, and students, who brainstormed ways to strengthen the institution and promote student success, equity, and inclusion.
