About Sac State's WSCUC Efforts
Sacramento State is committed to maintaining its accreditation through the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) by continuously assessing and improving academic quality, student learning outcomes, and institutional effectiveness. The university engages faculty, staff, and students in ongoing self-evaluation and strategic planning to ensure it meets WSCUC standards and fulfills its mission of providing accessible, high-quality education to the region.
Our university has maintained institutional accreditation since 1951, and we are now preparing for our 2026-2027 review. The reaccreditation review is an opportunity to reflect on our efforts, to celebrate our progress, and to identify issues that affect our ability to meet our mission goal, as California’s capital university, to “transform lives by preparing students for leadership, service and success.”
