Campus Fees
Sacramento State has various campus fees that include Event Fees, Public User Fees (PUFs), and Student Fees. Each fee type serves a unique purpose and has a different approval processes.

Fee Types
Event Fees: Includes special events such as fundraisers, conferences, and sports camps. Administration & Business Affairs (ABA) performs the final review of requests and holds authority for approvals
Public User Fees: Includes services like fingerprinting, passport, and planetarium. ABA performs the final review of requests and holds authority for approvals
Student Fees: There are seven types of Student Fees. Only four types are administered at the campus level.
Category I Student Fees: Tuition. These are set, administered, and distributed by the Chancellor's Office.
Category VI Student Fees: Voluntary fees. These are set, administered, and distributed by the Chancellor's Office.
Campus Student Fees
Student Fee, Category II: Mandatory student fees such as the Hornet Newspaper and Student Health Services fees. Proposals are reviewed by the Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC). Recommendations are made to the president by the committee. With few exceptions, the President has authority for final approval on all Category II fees.
Student Fee, Category III: Course fees, including field trip fees. Proposals are reviewed by SFAC, who makes recommendations to the president. The President has full authority for final approval on all Category III fees.
Student Fee, Category IV: Use and fines, like printing charges, late fees, and equipment rental. Financial Services is responsible for working with the requestors to present information to the President, who has full authority over approval for Category IV fees.
Student Fee, Category V: Fees for self-support programs like Parking, Housing, and CCE. Financial Services is responsible for working with the requestors to present information to the President, who has full authority over approval for Category V fees.
