Future Hornet Day Details 2025
Check In
Future Hornet Day will be from 10am - 2pm in the University Union! Check-in will be located in front of the University Union Ballroom. You will be sent a text message code 10 minutes before the event starts to check yourselves and all you must do is show our staff at the check in table that you have already checked in. If you have any issues, we can also look you up in our system and get you manually checked in. Feel free to plan your day however you like by using the information below.
The first 800 students to check in will get a meal ticket for The Servery at the Dining Commons.
Parking
Individuals & Families
Sacramento State is pleased to offer complimentary parking (no permit required) in Parking Structure 3 in any spot that is marked "S". For those with a disabled placard, you may park in Lot 5.
Schools & Organizations with Buses
Buses can drop off their students behind the Ernest E. Tschannen Science Complex and then will need to park in Student Lot 9.
Please note: To park in disabled parking spaces on campus, a disabled person placard or license plate must be displayed. In order to park in a clean air or EV space, the Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) decal from California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) must be displayed. See parking regulations for more.

Department & Resource Fair
Location: University Union Ballroom (1st Floor)
Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm
Come and meet with representatives from academic majors, student support services, and student organizations.

Application Workshop
Location: Univeristy Union - Cottonwood Suite (2nd Floor)
Get help completing your Spring 2026 or Fall 2026 application with the help of a Sac State admissions counselor. Here's what you need for the application workshop:
- Start your application by making an account and filling out your personal information.
- We have limited amount of laptops and highly encourage you to bring your own laptop and charger.
- Bring your transcripts from all the schools you have attended (unofficial is okay).
On the Spot Admissions
Location: University Union - Pacific Suite (3rd Floor)
Calling all Future Hornets, On The Spot Admissions is back at Sacramento State. Sign up for a 15-minute one-on-one meeting with an admissions counselor for on-the spot admissions or preadmissions advising. Our counselors will be there to help answer your questions about applying to Sacramento State.
To participate you must:
- Complete the Cal State Apply Application before Future Hornet Day
- Note your California State Admission Number through Cal State Apply
- Bring admission documents such as transcripts (unofficial is okay)
- Meet CSU and Sacramento State's eligibility requirements
- Make an appointment below

Prospective Student Campus Tours
Location: Univeristy Union outside the Hinde Auditorium (1st Floor)
Individual Tours (prospective students and their families/guests) can be registered for in advance. Capacity for a singular time is capped at 45 guest to ensure everyone has a quality tour. The tour will be 30 minutes and will not include housing or the WELL.
- If you are late we may still need to get started with or without your group to make sure we respect other people's time. We may not be able to reschedule if you miss your time.
Tour times: 10:20am, 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:10am, 11:40am, 11:50am, 12:20pm, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, and 1:10pm.
Group Campus Tours
Location: Univeristy Union outside of the Hinde Auditorium (1st Floor)
Group Campus Tours (schools/organization) will require registration in advance. Capacity for a singular time will be capped at 45 guests (including chaperones) to ensure everyone has a quality tour. The tour will be 30 minutes and will not include housing or the WELL.
- Multiple groups can register for the same time so we can give as many schools/organizations a tour as possible (i.e. a group of 35 registers and another group of 10 register for the same time for a total of 45 guests).
- If you are late we may still need to get started with or without your group to make sure we respect other people's time. We may not be able to reschedule if you miss your time.
- If you have a group that is larger than 45 guests, we recommend splitting your group and registering for multiple times.
Tour times: 10:00am, 10:10am, 10:40am, 10:50am, 11:20am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, 12:10pm, 12:40pm, 12:50pm, 1:20pm, and 1:30pm.
Housing Tours
North Village
Location: Tours will start in the North Village closest to the North Village Flagpole.
Housing tours will be limited to incoming Spring 2026 or Fall 2026 transfers and first-years only* and will require pre-registration. Due to construction and occupancy, the tour rooms may vary.
North Village consists of 7 residence halls for first-year students, sophomore, and upper-division students. Students even have the opportunity to be a part of theme communities.
*Please note: If you are not an incoming Spring 2026 or Fall 2026 students, you can still learn more about on campus housing by attending a Housing Presentation (see presentations below).

Hornet Commons
Location: Hornet Commons 3001 State University Drive, Sacramento, CA 95826.
Tours will be hosted from 10:00am - 2:00pm and do not require registraion.
Hornet Commons is a student living community intended for sophomore, junior, senior, transfer, international and graduate students. Residents will lease individually by-the-bed and will share the common area, living/dining room, bathroom and kitchen with their roommates.
The WELL Tours
Location: The WELL
The WELL is Sac State's wellness and recreation facility and exists for the benefit of students. The WELL offers a welcoming environment in which students, faculty, staff and alumni may participate in campus life.
Tours typically last between 10 minutes - 30 minutes and will occur every 30 minutes from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Attendees are still welcome to visit after 1:00 PM, but please note that they may experience a short wait for a tour due to team availability. Individuals on a tour must stay with the group the entire time and are not authorized to use equipment or take photos inside the facility.

Financial Aid Presentations

Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm (in English) & 12:30pm - 1:30pm (in Spanish)
The Sacramento State Financial Aid Office will be sharing information on financial aid and how to pay for college.
Hornet Launch Program Presentations

Time: 12:00pm - 12:30pm
Are you a incoming first-year student/freshman? Are you interested in learning how your classes get scheduled? The Hornet Launch Program pre-enrolls first-time, first-year students in their first year of classes at Sacramento State. This presentation will help students understand the processes, benefits to the program, and what to expect.
