Registration Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if I still need to fulfill the Foreign Language Graduation Requirement?
A: You may verify that you have fulfilled the Foreign Language Graduation Requirement on your Student Center by doing the following:

  1. Login to MySacState
  2. In your student center, under the section “Academics”, in the drop down menu select, “Academic Requirements”
  3. Under “Graduation Requirements”, a green check mark will be placed next to the “Foreign Language” section if it is fulfilled. A red square will indicate that you still need to fulfill the requirement.

Q: I completed language classes in high school. Where do I send my transcripts?
A: If you passed three years or the third level of a language course in high school with a C- or better, then that will fulfill the Foreign Language Graduation Requirement (FLGR).

You will need to have your official transcripts sent to the University Registrar:

Office of the University Registrar
Attn: Additional Credit
6000 J Street
Sacramento, CA 95819-6056

Q: The system is not allowing me to enroll in a 1B course. How can I enroll?
A: The system does not recognize the equivalent of 1A from high school courses, community colleges, or other universities. If you completed 2 years of a language in high school or the equivalent of a 1A language course, then you can enroll in a 1B course. Please contact the department at wll@csu.edu for assistance in enrolling.

Q: The class I am interested in enrolling in requires Instructor Consent. How can I obtain the instructor’s consent to enroll in the course?
A: Contact the instructor (professor) of the course via email or during their office hours to ask permission to enroll. If the professor approves your enrollment, please submit an OnBase Add Form and attach the approval email.
