Homecoming ASI Food Drive

Homecoming Food Drive
October 13-18

The Sacramento State Alumni Association and ASI are partnering up to help students in need of food and other supplies. All donations benefit the ASI Food Pantry. Monetary donations welcome in addition to select food products. Drop-off times will be Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Harper Alumni Center, or at the Homecoming Festival on Saturday, October 18 from 3 - 6 p.m.

Homecoming Book Sale

Book Bin Sale
October 15 & 16, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Lower Level, University Library, Sacramento State

Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to browse the Book Bin’s interesting and extensive inventory. Gently used hardback and trade paperback books are $2 each or three for $5. There is also a collection of artwork, music scores, audio recordings, long-playing records, CDs, DVDs and a large selection of children’s books.

FAHM Film Series: Nurse Unseen

Hinde Auditorium, University Union, Sac State

Nurse Unseen (2023, runtime: 93 minutes) is a feature documentary exploring the little-known history and humanity of Filipino nurses who risked their lives on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic while facing a resurgence of anti-Asian hate in the streets thousands of miles from home. A panel discussion exploring the themes in the documentary--immigration, labor, anti-Asian violence--follows the screening.

Peak Adventures Bike and Trail

Light Rail to Trail Bike Ride
Friday, October 17, 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Start at Peak Adventures, Sacramento State

Guides, bikes, light snacks, and light rail tickets are included. Discover the connections between local trails and our light rail system while meeting new friends and enjoying a fun ride. Bring your bike or use one of ours! This will be an 11-mile ride, so bring plenty of water. This will be a great way to educate yourself on the local area and meet fellow riders.

All University faculty, staff and their families are invited to the Homecoming Festival and football game Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Hornets take on the Northern Colorado Bears at 6 p.m. in Hornet Stadium. President Wood has made arrangements for all current and emeriti faculty and staff can reserve up to four (4) complimentary game tickets. Dance Marathon returns for its 2025 Silent Disco edition and is open to ALL students! KSSU DJs will be spinning tracks from your favorite genres, the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and the Student Alumni Association (SAA) will be serving mocktails, hosting games, and creating a cool kickback lounge area. Dancing, snacks, prizes, and fellow Hornets – what more do you need the night before the big Homecoming game? (Must have a valid Sac State student ID# to register; each student can bring one non-Sac State student guest.)

Homecoming Hornet Hacks 3.0

Hornet Hacks 3.0 - Hack a Better Future!
October 17-19
Carlsen Center, Sacramento State

This Homecoming embrace your competitive spirit! Hornet Hacks aims to provide a platform for students to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and vision, while also promoting a culture of learning, exploration, and knowledge-sharing among peers. Participants can choose one of the four tracks to build in and generate a solution to a real-world problem in the industry. $3,000 in prizes will be awarded!

Get ready for game day by joining Parents & Families at the Tailgate! Connect with fellow Sac State parents and supporters and show your Hornet Family pride alongside members of the Cultural Academic Resource Centers as we cheer our team on to victory. No registration needed.

Golf Cart Parade

Deadline to enter: Checklist & Registration must be submitted by Wednesday, Oct. 8 @ 11:59 p.m.

Sac State's annual Homecoming Golf Cart Parade is coming back and bigger than ever! Sign up so that your golf cart can be JUDGED and for a chance to win the grand prize. Golf Cart Parade participants will take part in the Hornet Walk during the Homecoming Festival and display their carts in Hornet Stadium until the end of half-time. Additional details about decorating are in the guidelines. Stingers Up!

Golf Cart Parade participants must complete and submit the Homecoming Driver Authorization Checklist materials (DUE: Wednesday, Oct. 8 @ 11:59 p.m.).

Use the Golf Cart Parade sign-up form to sign-up your organization or department and submit your Homecoming Driver Authorization documents. Participants will receive a confirmation email once their Authorization Packet is received.
