  • Sac State choirs to present 'Songs in the Night'

    Join Sacramento State’s three choirs for “Songs in the Nigh,” with director Donald Kendrick, and Ashley Arroyo and Shawn Spiess.

    This is the choirs’ last performance of the spring and starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Sacred Heart Church, 39th and J streets.

    The evening will feature the Sac State Women’s Choir, the Men’s Chorus and the University Chorus, with Ryan Enright, accompanist, in a concert celebrating a wide variety of choral music. The program will include “Suite de Lorca” by Rautavaara, “Rain Dance” by Karl Jenkins, “Shakespeare Songs” by Theodore Morrison, and “The Rossetti Songs” by James Hopkins.

    Tickets are $10 general, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students, available at the University Ticket Office, (916) 278-4323 or www.csus.edu/hornettickets.
