COVID-19 Updates

Due to the Coronavirus, we will be providing new students with a virtual orientation experience this Summer. We can’t wait to connect with you and share what it is like to be part of the Hornet family.

Important Dates & Info

Hornet Pre-Orientation: An online introduction to Sac State. Access information will be sent in early April to be completed prior to attending your virtual orientation session.

Welcome Future Hornet

Congratulations on being admitted to Sac State!

Welcome to college. We are excited to help you with your journey. New Student Orientation is required for all new students and is designed to help you get off to the right start.

During Orientation, you’ll attend academic advising sessions and register for classes. You will also learn about Sac State programs and services that will support you and how you can get involved in campus activities.

We hope to offer on-campus Orientation this winter! We will be offering some Zoom information sessions in October and November. We will list details here.

Important Orientation Dates

  • Registration Opens: November 1, 2021
  • Registration Closes: November 29, 2021
  • Orientation: January 4-13, 2022


Services to Students With Disabilities

Requests for sign language interpreters, real-time captioners, materials in alternative formats, or ADA accommodations should be made at least 10 working days in advance by contacting the Services to Students with Disabilities office at or (916) 278-6955 voice.

Special Orientations - Summer only

Students attend Orientation based on their major of interest. However, students in the following programs will attend First Year Orientation on.

  • EOP (Educational Opportunity Program)
  • CAMP (College Assistance Migrant Program)
  • Full-Circle Project
