Get Engaged as a Volunteer at Sac State
The Community Engagement Center has planned community engagement opportunities for Sac State students this academic school year that will provide enrichment and growth!
If you have volunteered with the CEC before or are interested in joining us, please complete our volunteer survey to let us know how your experience was and/or to share ideas for future opportunities.
Check out our events calendar for upcoming opportunities to volunteer or participate in!
Semester of Service
We are offering Semester of Service programs that connect students with a partnering community organization for 7 to 12 weeks. Our SOS opportunities allow students to gain a deeper understanding of the value of the service they are giving their time and energy to, and the lasting impact it can have on others.
Fall 2022 opportunities include:
- 916 Ink - Students tutor 1-on-1 with with elementary school children!
- River City Food Bank - Sac State students will serve unhoused, low-income and displaced families in our communities!
- Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento - Sac State students to mentor & empower girls at local schools!
Day of Service Events
We are also offering Day of Service events throughout the academic school year for students to serve with different organizations each month. Our DOS events are student lead by Ambassadors and Leaders, who plan and implement these service opportunities through partnering with community organizations and recruiting student volunteers.
Community-Sponsored Volunteer Opportunities
Beyond the CEC, there are community-sponsored volunteer opportunities that students can participate in. These organizations are serving our communities in various ways and for various causes. They are always looking for student volunteers to support their efforts.
