Community Service

Sac State Volunteers is a community service program open to the campus community. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to take part in local, single or multi-day service projects throughout the year.

Volunteering allows you to explore interests, develop skills, interact with new people and build friendships while increasing self-esteem. Studies show volunteering can also improve your mental health and emotional stability, promote longevity, and keep you active. For more information, contact the Community Engagement Center.

Meet the 2021-2022 Student Volunteer Leaders

Semester Long Volunteers

The Community Engagement Center is launching a new 10-week volunteer program for Sac State students! This program will give you the opportunity to get hands-on experience working with community groups and with their constituents directly. This semester long commitment is designed to prepare students for leadership roles and to learn about the problems facing our community and be able to work to address those problems in their lives and careers after college.

For spring 2022 volunteers will serve and work closely with these local organizations:

  • River City Food Bank – Help distribute meals to families in need and learn about food insecurity in your community while having an immediate, positive impact on someone’s day.
