  • University shifting to online courses in COVID-19 response

    Mail

Sacramento State President Robert S. Nelsen announced on Thursday, March 12, that the University will transition courses to online delivery for the remainder of the spring semester in response to concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Online course delivery is scheduled for Monday, March 16, through Wednesday, May 14. Face-to-face instruction will remain for certain courses not conducive to online learning, such as performing and theater arts, labs and clinicals.

The campus will remain open, including residence halls, dining services, The WELL, Student Health and Counseling Services, the Academic Information Resource Center, University Library, and University Union.

Additionally, Sacramento State has cancelled all campus events through Wednesday, May 20. No decision has been made about the status of Commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 15-17 at the Golden 1 Center.

And the Sacramento State Department of Theatre and Dance is cancelling public attendance at all remaining Spring 2020 season events. The department is looking into alternative opportunities for student completion of production coursework.

Those with unused tickets for Theater and Dance events may request a refund or use the tickets in the 2020-21 school year.

These decisions are made in consultation with the Chancellor’s Office, Sacramento Department of Health Services, Sacramento State administration, and city and county officials.
