About Parents & Families

About the Program

We are here to serve two Sacramento State communities: the parents and families of Sac State students wishing to connect with the campus experience and Sac State students who have their own children and families to care for while working towards their degree. For parents of students, we have the information you need to learn more about your son or daughter's housing options, safety, transportation, class registration and how to get involved on campus. For students-with-children, we can connect you to peer mentorship, and academic support, and low-cost childcare grants and services through Hornet Family Study Care while you juggle school, work, and parenting.

Sac State program targets student parents, families to create a path for academic success

The transition to college can be bumpy at times, and not only for incoming students.

Their parents need answers, too.

Studies show that college students whose parents are involved and informed are more likely to graduate. That support is part of the mission of a Sac State program, now in its 10th year, that is gaining momentum and attention.
