Students transferring from a California community college should use assist.org to determine course equivalencies that satisfy Sacramento State Psychology prerequisite requirements.
Pre-Approved PSYC 9 Equivalents
Four-Year Institutions and Out-of-State Colleges/Universities
Students transferring coursework from a four-year or out-of-state institution must schedule an appointment with the Department Chair (Dr. Furtak) via psychology@csus.edu. Students are required to provide the course syllabus and/or the following details at the time of the meeting:
- Course Code
- Course Title
- Semester/term Completed
- Grade Earned
- Indication of whether the course is designated as upper-division or lower-division.

Deadline March 2, 2026 - John & Joyce Schaeuble Award for Best Use of Quantitative Data in Psychology: $1,000
