TV – Smart TV Setup
Students in North Village: simply connect your TV to the cable outlet using an RG-6 coaxial cable. Make sure that you have set your TV for cable or CATV (vs antenna) and performed an auto program (sometimes called channel setup). If you find that your TV is still not working, please submit a repair ticket through our Housing Technology Service Ticket system.
*Please note that Riverview does not have an RG-6 Coax connection. Please see the Xfinity on Campus & DVR Service section for information on connecting to a TV.
Gaming Console - Connection
You may use game consoles in North Village through our wireless Saclink network. In order to get connected, please submit a repair ticket through our Housing Technology Service Ticket system.
For wired connections, you are only permitted to use a single network jack located in your bed space.
It is encouraged that you use the wireless network for gaming. To use the wireless network, you must register the MAC address of your console before connecting it to the Saclink wireless network. The MAC address can typically be found under network or internet settings in the user interface for your particular console. Note that students are only allowed 1 (ONE) ethernet port per bed space. This means that between two roommates, each roommate is allowed one active port each.
POLICY: Unless otherwise notified, all ethernet ports in the living rooms/common spaces are INACTIVE. Ethernet ports are only permitted to be activated within student rooms. Also, voice chat features in gaming consoles are disabled via ethernet due to network limitations.
For more information on wireless connections, please visit refer to the Student Connectivity Guide for guidance on how to connect your device and find its MAC address.
