About Health Science

The Bachelor of Science program in Health Science prepares students for a variety of roles within the allied health professions. The curriculum integrates coursework from disciplines across the University to provide students with a broad foundation of knowledge and skills related to life sciences, social sciences, communications, health ecology, public service, ethical practice, and data analysis.

This major also serves as home to all students preparing for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing here at Sac State. The curriculum is designed to provide the necessary pre-requisites to apply to the Nursing program or to pursue graduate school or advanced training in fields such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Sonography, Radiation Therapy, Physician Assistant School, Emergency Response, and more. The multi-disciplinary curriculum as well as a wide array of elective options offers a lot of flexibility for students to pursue an academic path that best matches their career goals.
