What is an I-20/DS-2019?
These are immigration documents issued by Sacramento State to international students. The I-20 is for F-1 student visa applicants, and the DS-2019 is for J-1 exchange visitors. They both confirm your acceptance to Sacramento State and are required for visa application and entry to the U.S.

How do I request my I-20?
You will first need to apply and get admitted to the university and accept your offer in your Student Center. You will then need to submit your bank statement, Financial Affidavit, and passport. After your documents are received and approved, your I-20 will then be emailed to you.

When will I get my I-20?
After submitting all the required documents and accepting the offer in the student center, it usually takes between 5 to 10 working days to generate I-20.

What is the Sevis number?
This is a unique identifier assigned to each I-20/DS-2019, used to track your status in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). You will need to pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee using the SEVIS number associated with your I-20 ($350 for F-1, $220 for J-1). For more information and payment of the SEVIS Fee, visit fmjfee.com. It is important to pay the fee using the SEVIS number associated with the I-20/DS-2019 of the school you are seeking to attend.

Fill out the form I-901 and make an online payment using credit or debit card at fmjfee.com
